YoBe is a music group with Emilio Bench (composer and guitarist) and Yossef Ben-Meir (singer and lyricist). They and the YoBe live ensemble are based in Marrakech, Morocco. YoBe’s music beat is from civilizations that bind in Morocco. It’s Bluesy-Rock, Orient-African and, we hope, life-trips inside you. The lyrical message of Bound from Our Birth, YoBe’s first album: local community is the defining power.
Vocalist, Lyricist, Producer. Fun Fact: I founded and lead the High Atlas Foundation in Morocco, where I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in 1993. I’m a writer on international development and an occasional professor of sociology. Favorite Dish: Freddy’s curry lamb.
Composer, Guitarist, Musical Director. Fun Fact: That’s the only picture you’ll see of me. Favorite Dish: Fish with scales and fins, well-cooked, not spicy.
Thank you, Gaven Ross, aka Gaffon, and Steven Ross, for your engineering, mastering, musicianship, and for seeing this album project into time.
”We believe music is not just a form of expression, it’s a way of life. It reflects the heartbeat of the world and a common pool of energy.”
